You're Paying $240/yr for WHOOP and Missing This
A consolidated performance report from your own WHOOP data, the yearly view the app never gives you.
What you'll build
A comprehensive performance report from your own WHOOP data - the yearly, consolidated view WHOOP never gives you. The app does weekly and monthly snapshots, and after a year or two of wearing the thing you go blind to them. This takes your full data export (mine was 500 days), runs it through Claude, and produces a clean PDF: average recovery score, heart rate, resting heart rate, strain, sleep, total workouts, seven charts, pattern and correlation analysis, and prioritized action items. Works the same idea for Apple Watch or Oura data - anything you can export.
Real examples from my report: a recovery calendar showing my recovery days improving month over month, a sleep-need trend drifting the wrong way (Claude Code tinkering hours, I know exactly why), a training breakdown showing which activities cause the most strain (volleyball, by a lot), and a custom before/after-college comparison I asked for - strain down, sleep up, measurably healthier. Top action items it gave me: prioritize sleep consistency, and reduce training load on red recovery days. You won't get that overall arc from the WHOOP app.
What you'll need
- A WHOOP (or any wearable you can export data from)
- Claude Code - or just Claude in the browser, the non-technical route works fine
- Your data export (step 1, takes two minutes)
Step 1: Export your WHOOP data
- Open the WHOOP app → tap the three lines (More)
- Scroll down to App Settings
- Tap Data Export → it sends the export to your email
- Open the email and download the file
Known issue: the "Download your data" link in the email often throws a bad-request error. Right-click the link and open it in an incognito window - it loads fine there. Save the file down.
Step 2: Grab the report generator
Two routes:
- Technical route: open the GitHub repo and copy the whole thing into your Claude Code session: https://github.com/austinpeechatt/health-report
- Non-technical route: I put the entire prompt in a Google Doc. Paste it into Claude in the browser (ChatGPT works too, but I'd recommend Claude) and you'll get a PDF with the same structure: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zpmodx3iyhwinI3B9gwy43DGdlnFDWoa1xTORd3w1JQ/edit?usp=sharing
Step 3: Feed it your data and generate the PDF
Drop your export in alongside the prompt - browser upload or straight into the Claude Code terminal, whichever you're using. It parses the CSVs, aggregates monthly stats, generates the seven charts and plot diagrams, analyzes patterns and correlations, and hands back the PDF.
Step 4: Read it and ask for your own cuts
The standard report is the start. The best parts of mine were custom asks - the before/after-college comparison existed because I told Claude to generate it. Month-by-month comparisons, specific activity deep-dives, whatever question you've actually been wondering about your body: just ask for it as another section.
That's it. You're already paying $240 a year for the data - this is how you actually get the insights out of it. Health is wealth.
