What you'll build

Your own creator analytics dashboard - I call mine Axiom Analytics. One screen pulling YouTube and TikTok (Instagram next) into a single view: subscribers, views, engagement, best-time-to-post heat map, a content calendar, a task list, AI insights on what's actually working, and an ideas table synced two-way with Notion. It's hosted online behind a password, so it's on my phone too. If you're a small-time creator this saves you the $20-30/month you'd pay Metricool or vidIQ, and you own it forever. Shipped in a day with Claude Code.

What you'll need

Step 1: Steal the best parts of the paid tools

The best way I've learned to build stuff: find the competitors who already do it well, screenshot the best parts of their work, and ask Claude to build it. The heat map in Axiom came straight out of vidIQ - I literally took a screenshot and told Claude:

Hey, can you rebuild this into the dashboard?

Take the pieces you'd actually use from Metricool, vidIQ, Spotter Studio - the charts, the calendar, the idea generation - and skip everything else.

Step 2: Scaffold the app

Front end is Next.js, React, and Tailwind - I don't know what any of that means, and I didn't need to. Put a password gate on it so it can live online without anyone else getting in. Online means portable: I pull it up on my phone and check tasks off from anywhere.

Step 3: Get your YouTube API key

Go to console.cloud.google.com (Google owns YouTube, so it lives there). Type in YouTube, enable the YouTube Data API, and paste the key over to Claude.

Step 4: Get your TikTok API key

Go to developers.tiktok.com, sign up, and create an app - specifically one that can view your metrics. It hands you an API key; toss it into Claude. This API-key stage is the only part that'll take you a while - the platforms don't make accessing your own metrics easy. Ask Claude to walk you through each platform's steps.

Instagram goes through Meta Developers (search it, log in, create an app). Fair warning: Meta fought me to a standstill - due to e-commerce and previous mistakes, Meta doesn't really like me. Hopefully it's less of a problem for you.

Step 5: Database, hosting, and the 30-minute cron

Supabase holds all the data - it's not much data, so the free tier covers it. Netlify hosts the site, also free. Then a 30-minute cron keeps everything synced, so the dashboard is never stale. Total running cost: nothing.

Step 6: Sync your ideas tab with Notion

My idea flow: ramble at Claude for 2-3 minutes on a raw video idea, then:

Hey, condense this down, put it into the Notion.

The ideas tab mirrors that Notion database - title, long-form or short-form, status, difficulty, tags - and clicking an idea opens the Notion page. The reason this matters: I come up with ideas a week or two before I build them, so by filming day I'm not fresh on how I wanted to articulate it. A quick brief-up on the Notion page before I start talking fixes that.

Step 7: Build out the four tabs

The more data you feed it, the better the insights get - and it's branded in my colors, light and dark mode, which matters when you're pitching yourself to a brand and need to show your engagement.

That's it. Everything I actually use from four different paid tools, in one dashboard I own and can keep building on. If you want the repo to clone, drop "REPO" in the video comments - enough interest and I'll open it up.

Good luck and happy building.
